Reynolds Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The American Red Cross has opened an emergency shelter in Centerville to assist individuals and families affected by the historic flash flooding across Southeast Missouri.
The shelter is located at First Assembly of God Church, 2124 Highway 21, Centerville, Missouri 63633, and is available to anyone displaced or impacted by the flooding.
Those seeking assistance can receive drinking water, meals, snacks, disaster recovery resources, and a safe place to stay overnight. Individuals are welcome to visit the shelter for services even if they do not plan to spend the night.
The Red Cross emphasized that identification or proof of residency is not required for admission. All services are provided free of charge and are available to everyone regardless of race, religious beliefs, nationality, or citizenship status.
The organization says its immediate focus is meeting the urgent needs of residents affected by the flooding while coordinating with local communities, government agencies, and emergency management officials to determine what additional assistance may be needed.
