Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Christine Logan-Hollis, a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher at Kingston K-14 Middle School, has been named one of seven finalists for the 2027 Missouri Teacher of the Year.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced the finalists, who represent school districts and regions from across the state.
The finalists were selected following a thorough review process conducted by a committee of education professionals. The Missouri Teacher of the Year program recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and make a lasting impact on their students.
Logan-Hollis is being recognized for her work teaching science to students in grades seven and eight at Kingston K-14 Middle School.
The seven finalists will participate in in-person interviews September 9 with a state selection committee. The committee includes former Missouri Teachers of the Year as well as representatives from educational organizations across Missouri.
Each finalist is recognized for outstanding work in education and for helping prepare Missouri students for future success.
DESE will announce the 2027 Missouri Teacher of the Year later this fall. The selected teacher will represent Missouri in the National Teacher of the Year competition and serve as the state's national representative.
