City of Potosi to Begin Alerting Residents About Door-to-Door Solicitors

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Potosi says it is taking steps to keep residents informed when solicitors are going door to door in the community.

City officials say they will begin notifying citizens, via social media, when solicitors are in town. As part of the process, the city says it will take photographs of the solicitors and the vehicles they are using.

The city also says it will keep a copy of each solicitor’s driver’s license in its office.

Officials say the goal is to provide residents with advance notice when people are going door to door in Potosi.

The city encourages residents to be aware of solicitors in their neighborhoods and says the new notification effort is intended to give citizens a heads up about who is conducting door-to-door solicitation in the community.
