Gray Summit Man Arrested After Woman Found Trapped Inside Bedroom

Gray Summit, Mo. (KFMO) - A 22-year-old Gray Summit man is facing multiple charges after Franklin County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported disturbance and found a woman unable to leave her bedroom early Sunday morning.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 500 block of Puetz Lane in Gray Summit at approximately 2:49 a.m. on August 30, 2026, for a peace disturbance. When deputies arrived, they heard a female victim yelling from inside a bedroom that she was unable to get out and needed help.

Deputies located several large items positioned against the bedroom door, including a motorized handicap chair, a large kitchen table and a shelving unit. The items were stacked in a way that prevented the woman from exiting the room.

The victim told deputies the suspect had been beating on her bedroom door and breaking things inside the residence before barricading the door. According to the sheriff’s office, the woman said she felt trapped and was physically unable to climb through the bedroom window or move the items blocking the door without assistance.

Deputies searched the residence and located the suspect hiding underneath a bed. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Charges were submitted to the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and a warrant was issued for 22-year-old Gage M. Thacker, of Gray Summit.

Thacker is charged with Third-degree kidnapping, Resisting arrest and Second-degree harassment. His bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
