Leadington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Leadington Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary at the Bullpen Sports Grill following a report from the business owner on August 31, 2026.
According to police, the owner contacted police about an incident at the business. They reported that Anthony Burnside entered the bar while it was closed to the public and began demanding money.
Police say Burnside was told multiple times to leave but allegedly refused and demanded that the owner open the cash register and provide him with money. The owner was ultimately required to physically remove Burnside from the business, according to police.
Officers reported that Burnside was combative when they made contact with him and continued making threats toward law enforcement officers. Police also said he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
Burnside is being held at the St. Francois County Jail on a $25,000 cash-or-surety bond.
