Cape County Coroner Removed from Office

(Cape Girardeau, MO) The Coroner for Cape Girardeau County, Wavis Jordan, is removed from office after being charged with three felony counts of providing false information to vital records and a misdemeanor count of stealing without consent. Reports indicate Jordan is alleged to have made false statements on three officially filed death certificates and taken money from a dead man's wallet during a welfare check in April of last year. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed legal documents to have Jordan removed from office.
