Position: Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for startup, adjust and operate machines used in production lines to ensure proper and efficient operation and production with minimal disruption. Performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems. Essential functions: Ability to perform setup, operations trouble shooting, tooling and configuration of MX4 and PM activities. Provide Emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Ability to program single loop controllers for proper operation. General knowledge of PLC programming and utilizing that knowledge while troubleshooting equipment. Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Position Overview:

Good Earth Tools is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with CNC machine operating experience to join our 2nd shift team of Machinists! The right candidate will have experience using micrometers and reading blueprints, and must be able to work in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. The requirements and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Responsibilities:

Will perform machine shop setup, read programming, and operate numerically-controlled machine tools.

Ability and experience in performing the following tasks: milling, drilling, tapping, deburring and all bench operations and inspections.

Must maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion, and follow all safety regulations.

Perform all preventative maintenance on machines as required.

Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required

A minimum of two (2) years CNC machine shop experience is preferred

Mazatrol experience is preferred

Must be able to work 2nd shift/nights (10 hour shifts, Monday – Thursday 4:30pm – 3:00am)

Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record 

Physical Demands:

Moderate to heavy physical effort required.

Must be able to safely handle 50+ pounds

Regularly required to stand, reach, and move about the facility

Responsibilities:

Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal products, specified by work orders, diagrams, and templates using different welding applications.

Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment, read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements per the routing and material list.

Understand and safely operate fabricating machines, following instructions and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

May work with the engineering department to troubleshoot part fit and assembly process by adjusting materials and print specifications in order to fabricate final product.

Observe proper machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction based on company standards and procedures.

Inspects first part for quality, accuracy, and functionality by checking product specifications based on following guidelines of shop floor order print/instructions. 

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent is required

A minimum of two (2) years of metal fabrication experience preferred, or proof of welding certification for entry level position

Must be able to interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications

Must be able to work 10 hour shifts, Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00am

Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.

Physical Demands:

Moderate to heavy physical effort required

Must be able to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds

Regularly required to stand, reach, and move about the facility
