County Commission Honors Young Volunteer

(Farmington, MO) Members of the St. Francois County Commission are honoring a young man who volunteers at the Farmington Oaks Senior Center. The Presiding Commissioner for St. Francois County, Harold Gallaher, says 10 year old Aiden Merrill helps deliver meals to the seniors. Gallaher adds Aiden's visit brings more than just food to the elderly, he also brings smiles and companionship.

Merrill was introduced to commissioners by Ursula Warren, the Executive Director of the Farmington Oaks Senior Center. A special plaque was given to Merrill at Tuesday morning's St. Francois County Commission meeting. In other business at the meeting commissioners approved a resolution to give ownership of land on Quarry Street to the City of Farmington and they approved hiring a part time person for the Auditor's office to help with the added volume of work from the distribution of CARES Act and Stimulus monies and other duties.
