(Farmington, MO) Renovations are still taking place at the old Mineral Area Regional Medical Center building at Farmington. The buildings owner, local businessman, Sharo Shirshekan, has been meeting with representatives of local governments, legislators, and others in regards to making the building useful to the community. The Executive Director of the St. Francois County Community Partnership, Bill Bunch, says Shirshekan is placing certain stipulations on the opening of the facility. They include making it sustainable and it should be used as a mental health facility.
According to Bunch the East Missouri Action Agency is working closely with the effort. The first floor is completely renovated and would eventually become an intake crisis center in the three story building.
