Arlin Eugene Keith

Arlin Eugene Keith, 74, of Fredericktown, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on February 25, 2026.

Born August 15, 1951, in St. Louis, Arlin was the son of the John "Gene" Keith and Geraldine "Gerrie" Walker, both of whom preceded him in death.

On April 24, 1978, he married the love of his life, Sally (Laird) Keith. Their nearly 48 years of marriage were built on loyalty, resilience, and unwavering devotion to one another.

Arlin became a proud member of IUOE Local 513 on August 3, 1978. Operating heavy equipment was more than a career. It was a craft he genuinely loved. He took immense pride in his skill, his precision, and the honest work of building something with his hands. he was also a dedicated member of Samaritan Lodge #424 and held deep respect for the principles and fellowship it represented.

Beyond his profession, Arlin was an avid musician for the majority of his life. Music was another outlet for his passion and personality, and those who knew him best understood how much he enjoyed playing and sharing that part of himself.

Many who knew Arlin were well aware of his ability to fight when the time called for it. He was strong, protective, and never one to back down when standing up for what mattered. What many did not see was the big softie he became when it came to his family. He will forever be remembered as a giant of a man with the warmest and most caring heart unless you crossed his family or friends. His love ran deep and his loyalty ran deeper.

Family was the center of Arlin's world. He is survived by his wife, Sally Keith; his son, Jason (Brea) Keith, stepson Dale (Stephanie) Hampton; and his six grandchildren, Korbin Keith, Keagan Keith, Maci Keith, Maizie Hampton, Aidan Hampton, and Meghan Hampton.

He absolutely loved watching Korbin wheel a sprint cart, cheering on Keagan on the basketball court and baseball field, and seeing Maci gradually warm up to her grandpa. Above all else, he treasured time spent with Sally and cherished every moment surrounded by his family.

Per Arlin's request, there will be no formal funeral service. A private celebration of life for close friends will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Serenity Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during his final months. Special thanks to Ronnie Sales for his steadfast friendship, weekly visits, and the meals he provided to Arlin and Salle, and to Terry Flanagan for the time he generously gave, including accompanying Arlin to medical appointments. There are many others whose prayers, visits, meals. and support meant more than words can express. While it is difficult to name everyone individually, please know that your kindness and love will never be forgotten.

Arlin leaves behind a legacy of strength, skill, loyalty, and deep love for his family. That legacy will live on in all who knew him.
