Charles Atkins

Charles Dwayne Atkins was born November 2, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles Dwayne Collins and Brenda Lee Atkins. He was the second born of three children.

As a youth, Charles attended Zion Lutheran during his time in elementary, Yeatman Middle as an early teen, and Lindbergh Senior High during his late teenage years. Later in life he continued his education at Missouri College where he earned is Associates Degree in Business.

Although he graduated in 2011, October 2005 is the year something magical happened for Charles. This is when he met the love of his life, his "BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY" Karen. The two were Inseparable, and two years later he made the then Karen Childers, Karen Atkins. To say they enjoyed their time together would be an understatement. No matter what the event, occasion, or festivity, you could count on those two experiencing an abundance of joy together.

Outside of his love for his wife, Charles cherished many things in life. From spending time and conversing with his loved ones (especially his niece and nephews), to fishing like his father, to his extreme fondness for food, with fried chicken being amongst his favorites. he also had a passion for music, listening to it, as well and making songs. Furthermore, he loved uplifting others through Christ and spreading the word of God.

Charles gained his wings on July 11, 2026, at the age of 48. While he is gone from us too soon, we take comfort in knowing he is in a better place. He was preceded in death by his father (Charles Collins) and mother (Brenda Atkins). He leaves to cherish his memories his wife (Karen Atkins), his BIG/LITTLE sister (Rachael Atkins), his brother (Tony Atkins), his niece and nephews (Trinity, Tony Jr., Tyree, Tarez, Daryus), his three aunts (Elaine, Mary, Jean), senior cousins (Lisa, Anne, Levetrea, Shirrelle), his brother in law (Daryl), and a multitude of other family and friends that were positively impacted by his love and support.

His warm smile, laugh, and kind spirit will truly be missed by many.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2pm until the service at 3pm at Coplin Funeral Home in Park Hills, Missouri. Coplin Funeral Home of Park Hills, Missouri is in charge of the arrangements.
