George Stone

George Granvel Stone was born George Granvel Ferguson on March 4, 1951, in Dexter, Missouri to George Ferguson and Edna (Aldrich) Ferguson.

George went home to be with our Lord & Savior on August 7, 2026. He passed away at St Joe Manor in Bonne Terre, MO having reached the age of 75.

George was a man of many talents. He played many musical instruments and wrote and played many songs which he had put onto a CD. He passed out around 800 copies of his CD for free. It made him so happy to sing for the lord and spread the word through his music. He also made the most beautiful globe candles, and stained glass, and loved wood working. He created many pieces of furniture that he passed on for his family to treasure forever.

George loved his family beyond measure. He was so proud to be a father and grandfather. Even though George had some struggles in life, he always leaned on the Lord and helped any and all that he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Edna Ferguson, and Six Sisters; Patty, Peggy, Betty, Jenny Sue, Polly, and Verline.

George is survived by one Son Gary (Amanda) Ferguson; three Daughters, Betina (Tim) Taylor, Samantha Stone, and Mariah (Joey) Wind. He had 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Bloomfield (non-military) Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO on Monday August 17, 2026, at 2pm. George will be inurned with his parents.

Cremation & Arrangements were under the care of Coplin Funeral Home in Park Hills, Missouri.
