Henry Janson Jr. was born on January 1, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Henry George Janson Sr. and Marjory (Haaser) Janson. He passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 80.
Henry was a man who found joy in many of life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building scenery for his model trains, collecting guns, and coaching youth sports. He generously gave his time volunteering in the Radiology Department at Mineral Area Hospital. He especially enjoyed music and spending holidays surrounded by his family and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry George Janson Sr. and Marjory (Haaser) Janson, and his first wife, Joyce.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Janson; his son, Todd Janson and his wife, Stephanie; stepson, Carlos Gonzalez; stepdaughter, Sarah Radford and her husband, Nicholas; and his grandchildren, Payton Janson, Bodhi Janson, Nora Radford, Nixon Radford, Abigail Gonzalez, Austen Gonzalez, and Carlitos Gonzalez.
He also leaves behind his lifelong friends, Karl Busch and Maryann Mick.
Henry will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, his many hobbies and interests, and the friendships he cherished throughout his life. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held by his family at a later date.
