Hobert Gale Slinkard Jr. was born May 25, 1930, to Franklin Gale and Lily (Rhodes) Slinkard in Marquand, MO.
Hobert graduated from Lutesville High School and attended the Free Will Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hobert was united in marriage to Arpha Sitzes on November 15, 1953, in St. Louis, MO.
He is survived by two (2) sons, Daniel Gale (Lisa) Slinkard, David Edward (Jan) Slinkard, three (3) grandchildren, Tara (Randy) LaChance, Joshua (Jessica) Slinkard, Janna (William) Sartin, two (2) honorary grandchildren, Cassie Foss, India Foss, five (5) great-grandchildren, Cameron Slinkard, Cayden Slinkard, Aaron Sartin, Katherine Sartin, Izzy LaChance, one (1) brother, Owen (Delores) Slinkard, and many loved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Hobert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arpha Slinkard, who he married on November 15, 1953, at St. Louis, Missouri, brother-in-laws, Delmer Hanners, Charley Sitzes, and honorary grandchild Fallon Foss.
Hobert was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Korea with the 839th Engineering Aviation Battalion, and was a member of the American Legion.
As a 58-year member of IUOE Operating Engineers, Local 513, he worked on many construction projects in Missouri, Tennessee, Illinois and Arkansas, known for being a great crane operator.
Hobert loved baseball, racing, hunting, fishing, family gatherings, traveling and camping.
