James Simmons was born on December 9, 1942, in Esther, Missouri to Carnell and Helen (Slinkard) Simmons. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid motorcycle rider. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends. James passed away on April 7, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents Carnell and Helen Simmons, and his siblings Gene Simmons, Helen Webb, and Billie Joan Wood.
James is survived by:
Wife: Joyce Simmons
Daughters: April (Simmons) Shaw and her husband Mark and Krista (Simmons) Joslin and her husband Jimmy
Stepdaughters: Cindy Teigland, Debra Robinson, Joy Hambrick and her husband Ken
Stepson: Donald Hopkins and his wife Cheri
Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many friends and family also survive.
