June Rehn

June (Bowden) Rehn, born October 15, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2026. She was a woman whose life was marked by kindness, dedication, and an enduring commitment to those she loved and served.

June's early years in Cape Girardeau laid the foundation for a life devoted to education and community engagement. She was a faithful attendee of the Presbyterian Church until its closure, finding in her faith a source of strength and inspiration. Teaching was more than a profession for June—it was a calling. She took great joy in helping and inspiring others, sharing knowledge with warmth and a beautiful smile that left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her passion for reading complemented her love of learning and fueled her lifelong commitment to growth and understanding.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lawanna was a devoted grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Rehn) Hinkle and Cathy (Mike) Floyd; her son, David Rehn; and her grandchildren, Steven Rehn, Ann Christine, Miranda (Cody) Post,  Marissa (Cody Autry) Hinkle. Lawanna’s legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Abrial Ryleigh Taaffe, Eli James Taaffe, Isaac Michael Taaffe, Ireland Christina Taaffe, Cole Don Autry, Rowen Garret Michael Post, and Elowyn June Post. Her life was enriched by the close bonds she maintained with dear family member and friend, Vicky Welke.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rehn; her parents, Rey and Helen Bowden; and her siblings, Kay Ellen Eisenmann and Dennis Ray Bowden.

Her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for teaching, and her generous spirit leave an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. June Rehn's memory will be honored and cherished by the many lives she touched, a testament to a life well lived with purpose, grace, and love.
