Pat Laut

    Patricia ”Pat” Harriett Laut, age 95 passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at her home in Silvermines near Fredericktown, Missouri. She was born on January 27, 1930, in Fredericktown, Missouri to Frederick William and Florence Georgina (Warden) Bensing.


On September 16, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, she married the love of her life, Donald Lewis Laut Sr. they were married for 71 years until his passing on August 4, 2021.

She is survived by her six children – Don Laut Jr. and wife Brenda, Sandra Stuppy and husband Jerry, Doug Laut and wife Sherry, Sharon East and husband Mike, Selma Mascaro and husband Terry and Walter Laut and wife Sandy; 18 grandchildren -

Amy (Dmitri) Thompson, Don Laut III (Michelle), Rebecca (Tony) Moyers, Jerry (Amber) Stuppy, Emily (Lucas) Carr, Missy (Derek) Smith, Becky Stuppy, Sarah (Jon) Page, Marcus (Tracy) Laut, Elizabeth Walls, Andrew (Korrina) Laut, Alice East, David East, Ashley (Justin) Rehkop, Nicole (Andrew) Minson, Chase Laut, Seth (Justice) Laut, and Dane Laut; 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Peeler; sister-in-law, Janet Laut; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Laut Sr., and two sisters, Earlene Wientge and Aurilia Pinnell.

Pat was a homemaker; she was a member of the Jolly Neighbors, 4-H Leader for the Knitting classes, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School teacher at United Methodist Church in Fredericktown and a member the Ironton Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed knitting and quilting and received Mother of the Year award for the state of Missouri in 1990. Throughout her years of accomplishments, her greatest joy was her family and her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the C.Z. Boyer & Son - Wilson Chapel in Fredericktown, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., also on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Wilson Chapel with Pastor Adam Logan officiating, assisted by Doug Laut.

Interment will be in the Ashlock Cemetery near Fredericktown.
