William Lay was born on June 4, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late James Lay and Wanda (Ruminer) Lay. William enjoyed taking his dog on walks, listening to music. He loved smoking his cigarettes, visiting with his friends, and watching war movies. He also loved to spend time with all of his children and his grandchildren. William passed away on July 25, 2026, having reached 62. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother David Lay and his sister Vivian Lay.
William is survived by:
Sons: James Lay and Kyle Lay
Daughters: Lacey Barbre and MaKayla Muse and her husband Michael
Brother: Michael Lay
Sisters: Willa Rasnic and Marion Nash
Grandchildren: Timothy Joe Halbert III, Asher Lynn Lay, and Waylon Matthew
Many friends and family also survive.
A private service will be held by family at a later date. Coplin Funeral Home of Park Hills, Missouri is in charge of the arrangements.
