Approval for Preliminary Jail Design Work

(Farmington, MO) The preliminary design stages of work on the St. Francois County Jail are approved after Tuesday's meeting of the St. Francois County Commission. The Presiding Commissioner of St. Francois County, Harold Gallaher, says the roof at the jail has been problematic for quite some time.

Gallaher explains once the project is complete it may reach a cost of around a million dollars. In other business at the meeting St. Francois County Recorder of Deeds, Jay Graff, was given approval to bid the next phase of scanning deed documentation. The county is working to make all deed information available online. The opening of the bridge on Busiek School road was announced. The road had been closed for weeks while the new bridge was being built.
