Blackwell Man Seriously Injured In Jefferson County Crash

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 30-year-old Blackwell man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Missouri Highway 21, south of Britton Road.

Investigators say a 47-year-old man from DeSoto was driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander and was making a left turn into a private driveway. At the same time, a southbound vehicle driven by the Blackwell man attempted to pass the SUV and struck the rear of the Outlander.

The Blackwell man sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was not injured in the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
