Chaumette Winery Building Destroyed by Fire

(Ste. Genevieve, MO) Chaumette Vineyards and Winery continues to be open for business as usual after a Thursday night fire destroyed the building that houses the offices and operations for the business. The Chief of the Wolf Creek Fire Protection District, Bart Mabry, says it was too late to save the building when his crew arrived.

No one was injured in the blaze. Mabry says they had at least 24 pieces of equipment on the scene fighting the fire. Nearly every fire department in St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Counties were involved. Officials with Chaumette posted on social media saying The Grapevine Grill, villas, Tasting Room, and wedding venues are all unaffected. Firemen were called to Chaumette just after 7 pm Thursday evening. The winery is located on Highway WW in Ste. Genevieve County.
