Foster Parents Provide Movie Event in Festus

Festus, Mo. (KFMO) - A powerful true story of love, faith, and family is coming to the big screen in Festus, as local foster parents Matt and Jennifer Surdyke sponsor a showing of "Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot" to inspire others to consider fostering children.

The film follows the true story of Donna and Reverend Martin who encouraged 22 families in Possum Trot, Texas to adopt 77 children in the foster care system. 

Surdyke also says the film will be shown at the B & B Theater in Festus July 27, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. More information can be obtained at fosterjeffco.org.
