Madrigal Sentenced for Domestic Violence Incident

(Jefferson County, MO) A Jefferson County jury is sentencing Juan P. Madrigal for his conviction in a domestic disturbance case. Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney, Trisha C. Stefanski, says Madrigal was sentenced to 25 years in prison for domestic assault in the first degree, 7 years for domestic assault in the second degree, and 7 years for tampering with a victim. Stefanski adds April 5, 2019, Madrigal struck the victim in the face with his hand and strangled her repeatedly causing her to black out. On or about April 15, 2019, Madrigal called the victim from the Jefferson County Jail and attempted to convince them not to cooperate with prosecution. At Wednesday's sentencing hearing the victim, as well as a victim from Madrigal’s previous felony domestic assault conviction, testified. Stefanski calls the conviction a huge win for domestic violence victims everywhere.
