Bismarck, Mo. (KFMO) - A Bismarck man is facing a serious felony charge after authorities say he threatened violence against students and responding law enforcement officers.
According to the Bismarck Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Center Street on May 27, 2026, after receiving a report of a terrorist threat.
During the investigation, officers established probable cause that Richard Grant allegedly made statements indicating he intended to shoot students at the Bismarck R-5 School District and then target law enforcement officers responding to the scene.
School administration was immediately notified of the alleged threat, and precautionary measures were implemented to help ensure the safety of students and staff.
Authorities later located Grant at Iron County Hospital, where he was taken into custody. He was subsequently transported to the St. Francois County Jail pending formal charges.
The following day, May 28, the St. Francois County Court issued a warrant charging Grant with First Degree Terrorist Threat. Court records indicate he is being held without bond.
The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the Bismarck Police Department.
