Bonne Terre Police Continue Investigation into Huff Court Stabbing

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The Bonne Terre Police Department has released new information regarding the stabbing incident that occurred on January 10, 2026, in the area of Huff Court in Bonne Terre.

Police have determined the incident was an apparent act of domestic violence involving an attempted murder, followed by an attempted suicide. Police now confirm the female was the victim in the incident, while the male was the assailant.

Authorities say the female victim remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. The male assailant, identified as the victim’s fiancé, is also hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Investigators are working in coordination with the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to seek formal charges against the male assailant. Police emphasize the investigation remains active and ongoing.
