Caledonia, Mo. (KFMO) - A residential structure fire in Caledonia on Sunday, May 24, 2026, is under investigation after firefighters returning from another emergency call spotted heavy smoke in the area of College Street.
According to the Caledonia Fire Department, personnel were returning from a medical assist call when they observed the smoke and began investigating the situation. Crews soon discovered an active residential structure fire, prompting officials to upgrade the incident to a second alarm response.
Units arrived on scene and initiated the initial fire attack while additional resources were requested through mutual aid agreements.
Several fire departments and emergency agencies responded to assist, including the Doe Run Fire Protection District, Big River Fire Protection District, Potosi Fire Protection District, Pilot Knob Fire Protection District, Irondale Fire Protection District, Bismarck Fire Protection District, Leadwood Fire Protection District, Park Hills Fire Protection District, Desloge Fire Protection District, Farmington Fire Protection District, and Leadington Fire Protection District.
Additional support was provided by the Washington County Ambulance District, Washington County 911, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials say the fire remains under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal. No injuries have been reported.
