Crites on Grand Jury Indictment of Woman in Death of Toddler at Poppy’s Playhouse 2

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A grand jury has indicted 40-year-old Tiffany Hedrick in connection with the death of 3-year-old Conrad Ashcraft in May.

Authorities say the incident occurred at Poppy’s Playhouse 2. Hedrick is facing charges of second-degree murder, abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death, and armed criminal action.

St. Francois County Sheriff Jeff Crites says the case is now moving forward.

The case is being prosecuted by Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski.

Crites says investigators encountered some roadblocks along the way.

Hedrick was arrested Thursday and is being held in the St. Francois County Detention Center without bond.
