Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Residents in Washington County who suffered damage from the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred between March 30 and April 8, 2025, will soon have access to disaster assistance in person.
Disaster Recovery Centers will be open in Potosi to help individuals whose primary homes or personal property were affected. The center will be located at Potosi City Hall, 121 East High Street, and will operate November 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Representatives from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available on-site to help residents submit disaster assistance applications, answer questions, and upload required documents. Officials recommend residents bring several items when applying for assistance. This includes insurance policy information if applicable, current contact information, the address of the damaged property and current residence, Social Security number, a general list of losses or damage, and banking information for direct deposit. Receipts for disaster-related expenses, such as temporary lodging or repair materials, are also helpful.
FEMA financial assistance may be available for essential home repairs, replacement of certain personal property, and other expenses not covered by insurance.
Funding may also be available for childcare, transportation, medical, dental, or funeral costs connected to the disaster.
