Educational Funding for Parkland Schools

(Jefferson City, MO) The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is awarding several Missouri Career and Technical Education programs with grant dollars to further support the work these programs do to ensure all Missouri students are prepared for success upon graduation and further contribute to developing Missouri's work force. Schools in the Parkland region to receive the funds include the UniTec Career Center of Bonne Terre and the Arcadia Valley Career Center of  Ironton. The Perryville Area Career and Technology Center, Perryville, Jefferson College - Area Technical School, Hillsboro, and the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center, Cape Girardeau, are all getting $400,000 each. The grant's funds must be used to enhance or extend area career centers' capacities to increase students' knowledge and skills needed to gain employment in current or emerging fields, continue their education, or retrain for new business and industry opportunities.
