Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The Bonne Terre Space Museum and Grissom Center is experiencing continued growth, prompting discussions about relocating to a larger space.
Founder Earl Mullins says the museum has expanded to the point where its current location can no longer adequately support its operations, exhibits, and future plans. As a result, Mullins says the organization is now actively exploring options for a new home.
Among the locations being considered is Neosho, Missouri. Mullins says that community is one of several under review as the museum looks to accommodate its increasing size and visitor interest.
Other possible relocation sites include St. Charles, Fredericktown, and Cape Girardeau.
Mullins emphasized that no final decision has been made at this time, but says the goal is to find a location that allows the museum to continue growing while serving a wider audience.
The Bonne Terre Space Museum and Grissom Center has become a unique attraction in the Parkland, highlighting space exploration history and education.
