Farmington to Dedicate Mayor Forsythe Public Works Complex Thursday

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington will host a dedication ceremony this week for the Mayor Forsythe Public Works Complex.

The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 3 p.m. at the facility located at 214 Industrial Drive in Farmington. Following the dedication, the public will be invited to take part in an open house at the complex.

The public works complex serves as the central hub for several key city departments, including Electric, Street, Water, and Sewer operations. City officials say the facility plays a critical role in supporting daily operations and maintaining essential services for the community.

A newly constructed building at the complex will provide expanded office space as well as additional storage for equipment used by the Water and Sewer Department. The improvements are designed to increase efficiency and better support city employees who maintain Farmington’s infrastructure.

The complex is being named in honor of former Farmington Mayor Larry Forsythe. Forsythe served as mayor from 2017 to 2025 after previously serving on the Farmington City Council.

During his time in office, city leaders say Forsythe played an important role in planning for the expansion of the public works facility, helping move the project forward to improve operations and better serve the city’s growing needs.

City officials encourage residents and community members to attend the dedication ceremony and open house to learn more about the facility and the services it supports.
