Farmington Water Main Repair to Cause Temporary Outage Wednesday

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Residents living near Hickory Street and Middle Street in Farmington should prepare for a temporary water outage on Wednesday, June 24, while crews conduct a water main repair.

The outage is expected to begin at approximately 9 a.m. and continue until around 3 p.m. as workers complete the necessary repairs to the water system.

Officials advise customers that once service is restored, they may experience sputtering faucets or cloudy water. The temporary discoloration and air in the lines are caused by trapped air entering the water system during the repair process.

Customers experiencing cloudy water are encouraged to run their faucets for several minutes after service is restored. In most cases, the issue will resolve quickly as the trapped air is flushed from the lines.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and store water if needed during the outage period.
