Farmington Water Park Expected to Open Saturday Despite Uncertain Forecast

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington Water Park is preparing to reopen for the 2026 summer season Saturday, May 30, 2026, with opening day scheduled for 11 a.m., weather permitting.

Farmington City Administrator Greg Beavers says staff members have spent weeks preparing the newly renovated water park for summer visitors, although the forecast for opening weekend may impact operations.

Officials say updates regarding any weather-related delays or closures will be posted through the Farmington Water Park’s social media channels.

Ahead of opening day, water park staff and lifeguards have been completing extensive safety and emergency response training. Officials say lifeguards are certified through Starguard Elite and continue monthly training sessions throughout the summer season to maintain emergency preparedness standards.

The city is also reminding visitors about several important safety policies that will be enforced at the facility. Inflatable flotation devices, including water wings, are prohibited inside the water park. Only U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests are permitted. A limited number of life vests are available at the park free of charge, and staff members can assist with proper fitting.

Officials emphasized that lifeguards are present to help prevent emergencies, but parents and guardians are expected to closely supervise children and help enforce park policies.

Children ages 4 and under must be accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian age 16 or older. Children ages 5 through 11 must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 16 years old while visiting the park. Children using flotation devices must remain within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian in the water.

Several ride restrictions will also remain in place this season. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the large yellow and orange slides, while riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride the large blue slide. The smaller blue-and-white striped and yellow slides on the play feature area do not have height requirements.

Officials also reminded guests that riders may not ride on an adult’s lap on any slide, and life jackets are not allowed on slides.

Outside food and drinks are prohibited inside the facility, except for sealed clear water bottles and empty tumblers.

City officials say they hope families will enjoy a safe and fun summer season at the Farmington Water Park.
