Felony Charges Deferred In Alleged Altercation

(St. Francois County, MO.) A rural Bonne Terre man, 26 year old James Young, won't face felony charges after they were deferred by the St. Francois County Prosecutor's office for now. Young is accused of being involved in a physical altercation with his mother and stepfather in September. He was charged with a Class A Felony of first degree domestic assault with serious physical injury, and a Class B Felony first degree domestic assault first offense. Reports show Young had apparently became angry over whether or not his stepfather had taken some of his belongings. Records indicate Young attacked his mother and then struck his stepfather. He is then said to have allegedly shoved his mother down a hill breaking several of her ribs. Even though Young won't be prosecuted now the state could bring the charges at a later date.
