Felony Suspect Barricades Inside Apartment Following SWAT Response in Arnold

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A man wanted on multiple felony warrants is in custody after barricading himself inside an apartment in Arnold early Tuesday morning.

According to Arnold Police, detectives observed the suspect, who was also linked to several vehicle break-ins, exit a stolen vehicle and enter an apartment in the 100 block of Crosswind Drive around 8 p.m. Monday. Officers quickly secured a search warrant for the residence and called for assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.

Authorities say SWAT officers made contact with the suspect around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, at which point he barricaded himself inside the apartment. After several hours of negotiations, the suspect was taken into custody at approximately 6:50 a.m.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
