Festus Man Found Guilty in Jefferson County Deputy Assault Case

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Jefferson County jury has found 32-year-old Sean Nicholos Ramsey of Festus guilty on multiple felony charges after an incident in which he assaulted a Sheriff’s Deputy.

On September 12, 2025, the jury convicted Ramsey of Assault in the First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Disarming a Peace Officer, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Resisting a Lawful Detention. The charges stem from an encounter in 2023 when a Jefferson County Deputy attempted to detain Ramsey during a stolen vehicle investigation. According to authorities, Ramsey allegedly assaulted the Deputy, reached for the Deputy’s firearm, and fired a shot. No one was struck by the bullet.

The Deputy regained control and held Ramsey until backup officers arrived. Ramsey is scheduled to be sentenced on November 17, 2025.
