Fire Contained at Laundry Basket in Park Hills

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Fire crews from Park Hills and Desloge responded to a reported fire Thursday evening at the Laundry Basket laundromat in Park Hills.

Park Hills Fire Chief Brad Weiss says the fire started when clothes caught fire inside a gas dryer. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher. Due to the small size and contained nature of the fire, it was downgraded from a first alarm.

Crews remained on scene for a short time to ventilate the building and ensure it was safe. No injuries were reported.
