Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A High Ridge man is facing multiple felony charges after an investigation into a child abuse case that dates back to April.
Law enforcement officials arrested 24-year-old Mason Williams on the morning of June 16 in Eldorado, Illinois. The arrest was made with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, and the Eldorado Police Department. Williams is charged with 12 counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child, a Class D felony. The charges stem from allegations that he physically abused a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl. Investigators say the abuse was captured on video inside the home. Williams also faces a misdemeanor charge of Animal Abuse. He is currently being held without bond at the Saline County Jail in Illinois.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office credited the swift action of Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski’s Office and the cooperation of law enforcement agencies in Illinois for helping secure the arrest.
