Iron County Crash Sends St. Louis Man to Hospital by Air

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A late-night crash in Iron County left a St. Louis man seriously injured Saturday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11 p.m. on April 11 along Highway 221, about two miles north of Pilot Knob on private property.

Troopers report a 45-year-old man from St. Louis was driving a 1997 Honda 400 eastbound when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck an unknown object.

The driver, who was not wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was transported by air medical to Mercy South in St. Louis for treatment.

The vehicle sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene by a family member.
