Iron County Man Charged Following Sexual Assault Investigation

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Iron County Sheriff's Office has filed criminal charges against an Iron County man following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving an adult victim.

According to the sheriff's office, the investigation began after law enforcement received a report of a non-consensual sexual encounter that allegedly occurred at a private residence in Pilot Knob.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office, working in conjunction with the Pilot Knob Police Department, conducted an investigation that resulted in probable cause being established. Authorities subsequently arrested Michael Scott Browers in connection with the case.

Officials say the investigation remains active, and because of the ongoing nature of the case, no additional information regarding the allegations is being released at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have had similar encounters with Browers or anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact Detective Chrystal Battaglia at the Iron County Sheriff's Office by calling 573-546-7051 or by emailing chrystal.battaglia@ironcountymo.gov.
