K-9 Assists in Fentanyl Arrests Following Traffic Stop in Park Hills

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Three people were taken into custody following a traffic stop and K-9 investigation in Park Hills that led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl.

According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, a corporal with the department’s K-9 Division conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Silverado in the Park Hills area on Saturday, January 3, 2026. During the stop, the corporal deployed his K-9 partner, which gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia and approximately 75 capsules of suspected fentanyl.

Authorities say the three occupants of the vehicle, Kevin Guffey of Festus, Deanna Bailey of Mineral Point, and Timothy Pickett of Mineral Point, were arrested and transported to the St. Francois County Adult Detention Center.

All three are facing charges related to drug trafficking and drug possession. Formal charges will be determined by the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
