Madison County Chamber Luncheon Focuses on Severe Weather Preparedness

Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Severe weather can strike at any time, and being ready is key, according to Jay Corbitt of Team Dominator Storm Recovery and Chaos Storm Team.

Speaking at the Madison County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday, Corbitt discussed the various types of severe weather and the effects storms can have on both residents and local businesses.

He shared practical advice for preparation, including keeping a go bag with essentials, assembling a lights-out kit in case of power loss, and having a clear evacuation plan. Corbitt emphasized that these steps aren’t just for households, businesses in the area also need to have their own emergency strategies in place.

The Chamber luncheon drew local leaders and business owners who left with actionable steps to strengthen their readiness for the next storm.
