Maple Street Lane Reduction Scheduled for Utility Pole Replacement

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Drivers traveling through Farmington should be aware of a temporary traffic change on Maple Street this week.

City officials say Maple Street, between Alexander Street and Walton Drive, will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25 while Ameren contractors complete utility work in the area.

The project involves replacing a utility pole along the roadway. To help maintain traffic flow and improve safety for motorists and workers, a temporary traffic signal has been installed and will direct vehicles through the work zone.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, use alternate routes when possible, and exercise caution while traveling through the area. Delays are expected during the two-day project.

Officials remind motorists to follow all posted traffic control devices and watch for workers near the roadway.
