Mental Health in the Workplace Focus of Chamber Luncheon

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Business owners and community leaders gathered recently for a Park Hills - Leadington Chamber of Commerce luncheon featuring Dr. Angela Webb of McIntyre Psychological Services in Farmington.

During the luncheon, Dr. Webb discussed the importance of addressing mental health concerns in the workplace and encouraging open conversations between employers and employees. She said discussions involving mental health are important for business owners and leaders to have as workplaces continue to face challenges involving stress, anxiety, burnout, and other mental health concerns.

Webb also stressed the importance of recognizing the signs of mental illness and understanding when employees or coworkers may need help or support. She said awareness can help create healthier and more productive workplaces.

Following the luncheon, Webb said she hopes the presentation helped open the eyes of local business owners and leaders who attended and encouraged them to continue conversations about mental health within their organizations.
