Baseball-Sized Hail, Tornadoes Hit Missouri During Severe Weather Outbreak

Springfield, Mo. (KFMO) - Severe weather continued to impact Missouri, as a powerful storm system brought baseball-sized hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes across the state Tuesday.

One of the most intense moments came near Springfield, where Eric Gockel was driving between Springfield and Willard when extremely large hail began falling. The hail shattered his vehicle’s windows and even made its way inside.

The storms are part of a multi-day severe weather outbreak affecting Missouri. On Monday, communities across the state also saw dangerous conditions. In Chesterfield, hail and strong winds rattled homes, while Cuba was hit with golf ball-sized hail.

Meanwhile, in Kansas City, torrential rainfall caused significant flooding, with some roads covered by several feet of water. Emergency crews responded to stranded drivers as water levels quickly rose.
