Dinkins Wins Heated Republican Primary for Missouri House District 144

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - One of the most competitive legislative races in Missouri's August Primary Election came in the race for State Representative in District 144, where Republicans Chris Dodson Dinkins and Tony Harbison battled for their party's nomination.

Dinkins emerged victorious, receiving 4,019 votes (56.16%) compared to 3,138 votes (43.84%) for Harbison. The race drew more than 7,100 Republican voters, highlighting the strong interest in what had become one of the area's most closely watched primary contests.

While both Republican candidates campaigned heavily throughout the district, Dinkins ultimately secured the nomination by a margin of 881 votes, earning the opportunity to represent the Republican Party in November.

On the Democratic side, Andrew J. Eye faced no opposition in the primary and received 1,091 votes, easily securing his party's nomination.

With both party nominees now officially determined, the November General Election matchup for Missouri House District 144 is set.
