FEMA Individual Assistance Approved for 20 Missouri Counties

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Friday, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) announced that President Donald J. Trump has approved Individual Assistance for 20 counties in southeast and south-central Missouri through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The aid is in response to severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding from March 30 through April 8. Eligible residents in counties including Iron, Reynolds, and Washington can apply for federal assistance to cover disaster-related expenses such as housing repairs, temporary housing, rental assistance, medical and funeral costs, and replacement of damaged belongings and vehicles.

Applications for FEMA disaster assistance can be completed online at disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-3362. Affected residents are advised to document losses and keep receipts for recovery-related expenses. Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are also available to homeowners, renters, and businesses in the impacted areas to cover uninsured property losses and economic injury.
