Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - Traffic along northbound Highway 67 in St. Francois County was brought to a standstill Thursday evening after concrete broke loose on the bridge at the Desloge exit, leaving holes in the roadway and damaging several vehicles.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m., forcing authorities to shut down the northbound lanes at Parkway Drive. Motorists were then diverted off at the Desloge exit while Missouri Department of Transportation crews assessed the damage.
MoDOT reportedly fixed the holes and reopened the highway back up to traffic shortly before 9 p.m.
No serious injuries were reported. Officials continue to urge drivers to use caution when traveling in the area.
