Perry County Sheriff Warns of Text Scam Claiming Missouri Court Action

Perry Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents to a scam involving fraudulent text messages that appear to come from a Missouri court system.

According to authorities, the message claims it is from the State of Missouri and references the Municipal Court of St. Louis County Traffic Division. It is labeled as a “Final Notice - Court Enforcement Action” and urges recipients to take immediate action.

Officials say the message is not legitimate and is designed to scare individuals into paying money or scanning a QR code that could compromise personal information.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging residents not to scan any QR codes, click on links, or send money in response to these messages.

Anyone who receives the text is advised to delete it immediately and avoid further interaction. Residents with concerns can contact local law enforcement for guidance.
