Perryville Man Charged in Child Pornography Investigation

Perryville, Mo. (KFMO) - A Perryville man is facing multiple felony charges after an investigation into child pornography led to his arrest earlier this week.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, through its Special Victims Unit, announced the arrest of 41-year-old Jason L. Robinson following what authorities described as an online child pornography investigation.

According to the patrol, investigators in February 2026 were conducting an investigation involving the online sharing of child pornography. During that investigation, officers identified a specific Internet Protocol, or IP, address allegedly associated with files identified as child pornography. Authorities say that address was later connected to Robinson’s residence in Perryville.

On March 30, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search, Robinson was contacted and interviewed, and officials say evidence of child pornography was recovered and seized.

Robinson was then arrested and taken to the Perry County Jail, where he was initially placed on an investigative hold. Investigators later submitted a probable cause statement to the Perry County Prosecutor requesting formal charges.

On March 31, 2026, the Perry County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Robinson with Possession of Child Pornography in the First Degree, Promoting Child Pornography in the First Degree, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Robinson remains in custody at the Perry County Jail without bond.

The investigation involved assistance from the Perryville Police Department, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri Digital Forensic Center, and the State Technical Assistance Team.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
